FAIRBANKS — A Fairbanks man was sentenced to a 10-year prison term Friday for gunning down a friend more than two years ago in West Fairbanks.

The sentence for Jacques Lisbey, 20, was the term already agreed to under the terms of a plea agreement in the second-degree murder of Malik Moore in July 2011. According to the case prosecutors brought against Lisbey, the defendant was motivated to kill his friend because a woman who was pregnant with Lisbey’s child was in an argument with Moore and told Lisbey she felt threatened by him. Moore was found dead on the powerline trail off Sandvik Street.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed unrelated charges accusing Lisbey of robbing three Fairbanks gas stations earlier in the summer of 2011.
